Jewish Sparks

Jewish Sparks is a refreshing approach to Jewish engagement and learning where kids explore Jewish values, history and holidays through engaging activities and crafts.

With weekly sessions, our aim is to spark and nurture your child’s Jewish identity, through our fun, out-of-the-box and hands-on educational approach.

We believe that learning doesn't need to happen in a classroom. At Sparks every session is a new adventure. For Sukkot, children might be engineers building a sustainable Sukkah. They'll  explore Kosher and Jewish foods by competing in a themed "Master Chef". One week we'll be producing a film and another week we'll press olives to create oil for the Menorah.

With the creative lens of Jewish Sparks, there's no limit to the possibilities of Jewish exploration.

Leah Hecht-Wolf, Co-Director

Leah was born and raised in Park Slope in a family that was dedicated to Jewish community and outreach. Leah has over a decade of experience in directing and teaching in both formal and informal educational settings. Passionate about strengthening Jewish engagement and identity, Leah sees every area of life as a learning opportunity and is driven by the possibilities in making Jewish learning relevant to today’s world. In 2021, Leah co-founded Dirah, a home for Jewish life and learning. Wife and mom of four, Leah enjoys spending time with family and friends.

Leah completed her Masters and holds New York State certification in Regular and Special Education.

Rabbi Menashe Wolf, Co-Director

Born in Melbourne, Australia, Rabbi Menashe has spent time teaching and learning in Jewish communities around the world. Menashe is dedicated to strengthening Jewish identity and has run educational programs in Israel, Italy, Canada, and in multiple cities across the US. As a father of 4 young children, Menashe understands the need for progressive educational opportunities for our youth and believes it plays a key role in ensuring a passionate, involved Jewish future. Menashe is on the curriculum team of the internationally acclaimed Jewish Learning Institute and is the co-founder and spiritual mentor of Dirah.

We do our best to make our program flexible and accessible to all Jewish families. We offer registration for one semester at a time or all 3 semesters at a discounted rate.
